Floral Merchandiser in Oneonta, NY (Part Time)

MERCHANDISER | Floral Department

COMPENSATION | $18.00/hour

EMPLOYMENT TYPE | Part-Time–5 hours per week

WEEKLY HOURS | 5 (Subject to Increase During Holidays & Promotional Periods)

SCHEDULED WORKDAYS | Tuesday & Fridays (Schedule to be Determined & Subject to Change)

GENERAL OVERVIEW | Sunshine Bouquet, a leader in the mass-market floral industry, is looking for a motivated candidate to service our customers, managing, maintaining, and merchandising high-volume fresh-cut flower and potted plant displays in Oneonta, NY.

Route note: location including but not limited to, route requirements may change based on the needs of the business.

JOB DESCRIPTION | The Merchandiser works in our client’s facility. Duties include:

  • Cleaning, watering, restocking, and merchandising floral display before business opening hours.
  • Accessing cold storage (for short periods).
  • Moving palletized product around the facility with a manual pallet jack.
  • Lifting and palletizing boxes.
  • Standing for extended periods, walking, bending, and kneeling.
  • Quickly replenishing merchandise as items are purchased.
  • Identifying and removing damaged/outdated floral items from display.
  • Assisting potential floral customers with questions and selection of products during business hours.
  • Sending and receiving emails with photo attachments from a smartphone.
  • Conducting inventory counts of floral products.

REQUIREMENTS | Candidate must be:

  • Punctual.
  • Professional.
  • Self-starter.
  • Able to travel locally and must have a valid Driver’s License (in good standing).
  • Computer literate and own a smartphone (with data service).
  • Able to access a printer or own a printer.
  • Able to use Microsoft Outlook for mobile and desktop devices.
  • Able to work efficiently under minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and able to communicate effectively with supervisor(s).
  • Able to work on their feet, move about, bend, kneel, and must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
  • Able to operate a manual pallet jack (training provided).
  • Available to work early mornings, split-shifts, weekends, and additional hours during holidays/promotional periods.
  • Able to work with floral materials and foliage.

* Employees are only eligible for enrollment in Sunshine Bouquet’s medical benefits program 90 days after hire-date.
