Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper

The Community Restorative Justice Center, Inc. (CRJC) of Saint Johnsbury is recruiting for a Admin Assistant/Bookkeeper. This position requires running the front desk at a non-profit that focuses on restorative justice programs.

​The primary requirements/responsibilities for the Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper:

General Requirements:

  • Knowledgeable or willing to be Trained in and be supportive of the principles and practices of Restorative Justice;
  • Proficient in language skills and be able to communicate with others in person, via telephone, and by written correspondence, video conferencing, and email;
  • Organized, self-actuating, dependable and trustworthy;
  • Sensitive to the need for confidentiality and able to determine how and when confidentiality must be maintained;
  • A team player willing to assist in general operations of the CRJC, including answering telephones, greeting the public, scheduling appointments, light cleaning etc;
  • Attend weekly staff meetings;
  • Willing to learn and step into other CRJC positions when needed;
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn basic use of Quickbooks;
  • Reliable Transportation

Responsibilities are:

  • Manage office space and conference/meeting room reservations;
  • Answer telephone, greet public, and schedule appointments as needed;
  • Maintain volunteer files;
  • Log in all information and referral requests and assist Legal Program Coordinator;
  • Facilitate the Parking Board Process for contested parking tickets;
  • Basic Bookkeeping tasks: Payroll, Accounts Payable, Reports, etc.;
  • Assist staff with administrative tasks as needed;
  • Other duties or special projects as requested by the Executive Director.

This full-time (40hrs/week) position requires a consistent, dependable presence at the front desk. This job consists of many different duties. Formal training for all Justice Center programs will be offered.
