Production Team Member, Ice Cream Production

Compensation: $21-24/hour with the potential to move to a salaried role

Schedule: Four 10-hour days, with a 3-day weekend (Monday-Thursday 8 am to 6 pm)

Position Summary: We are looking for a creative, goal-oriented individual to help us continue building the Sisters of Anarchy Ice Cream brand. The right candidate will have a passion for food and all things ice cream! Current responsibilities focus on assembling/labeling ice cream packaging, washing dishes/production equipment, helping with ice cream production, and preparing ingredients for ice cream (fruit purees, cookies, brownies, etc) You will also be trained to assemble, operate, and maintain the ice cream production equipment. Additionally, you may occassionally be asked to assist with fulfillment projects when production is slow.

This position is perfect for a candidate with a growth mindset and a willingness to learn and problem-solve. Our ice cream production is expanding and this role will grow and assume more responsibilities, as we do. We need someone who’s willing to adapt and think on their feet. You will be part of high energy, high activity, and high responsibility team. This will start as an hourly position, pay commensurate with skills and experience.

Reports To: This position reports directly to the Ice Cream Production Manager.

As a member of the Production Team, your responsibilities would include:

• Learn how to make ice cream and maintain ice cream production equipment
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations, including trash and recycling removal, equipment cleaning, sweeping/mopping and maintaining general cleanliness in all actively used spaces.
• Wash all production related dishes and equipment with a commercial dishwasher
• Label and date pint, single serve, and Sis’wich packaging for ice cream
• Package frozen ice cream for storage and delivery
• Help to facilitate warehouse transfers to and from our offsite storage
• Actively practice the appropriate procedures and proper care and handling of our equipment; maintaining supplies; bringing the need for repairs to the Production Manager’s attention.
• Help with preparation of ingredients for ice cream production
• Assist in making and packaging ice cream
• Assist in organization and inventory control.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must love ice cream
• The perfect candidate would have a passion for food and basic knowledge of how a professional kitchen runs
• Good knife skills and intro level baking experience a plus
• Must be able to complete work in a timely and efficient manner
• Must be detail-oriented, able to self-manage, and pleasant to work with.
• Must understand the importance of CONSISTENCY.
• Must be able to regularly lift 75 pounds
• Must be able to periodically spend up to ten hours on your feet
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required.
• Food/beverage production or restaurant/bakery experience preferred, but willing to consider the right candidate who has no experience in food/beverage production
• Knowledge of proper food handling regulations and health code standards (servsafe certification, a plus)

Inspired by our three daughters, who tend to color outside the lines, we developed Sisters of Anarchy Ice Cream within the overall structure of Fisher Brothers Farm. We have created a unique, vibrant slate of flavors and a strong brand story over the past six years. Unlike most ice cream companies, we don’t throw around farm-to-cone just because it’s a catchy phrase. Our ice cream is truly farm-to-cone, currently made on-site, almost entirely with flavor elements grown on the farm.

Current Sisters of Anarchy flavors incorporate fresh blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, elderberries, aronia berries, red wine grapes, peppermint, peaches and ginger, honey, maple syrup, as well as premium chocolate and vanilla. All of our ice cream names, such as Chocolate Anarchy, Dirty Anne, I Really Love Your Peaches, and Token Male, inspire conversation and lead to rabid loyalty once our customers get a taste.

Sisters of Anarchy Ice Cream is based at Fisher Brothers Farm, our 75-acre, family-owned berry farm located in Shelburne, VT. 2024 is the eighth year of business. We sell our ice cream at our increasingly popular farm stand, at catered events throughout New England, through mail order, at select, high-end resorts and restaurants, and at a growing list of wholesale grocery locations.

Pay: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
