Alpine Bike Works is an independent, mountain-oriented, full-service bike shop with locations in both Killington, VT and Keene, NH. We maintain an expansive inventory of bicycles, components and accessories from the most highly regarded brands in the industry.

We are looking for someone to assist on the Sales Floor in our Killington, VT location. In this role, you will help connect riders with their future dream machines, discuss upgrades, book bikes for service and talk about local trails…a lot. In this role, candidates may have the opportunity to assist in the Service Department from time to time. The role, however, will be primarily customer-facing.

The position requires regular daytime availability beginning in March, 2024. Full-time hours may be considered on a per-candidate basis.

The ideal candidate will bring with them a wealth of practical bicycle knowledge, be an active rider possessing familiarity with the local trails and have excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn. A positive attitude is mandatory.

Candidates must be comfortable working in a team-based environment and demonstrate a desire to support, learn and grow alongside others. Every role at Alpine Bike Works is but one component of the broader team and it is imperative that each member is happy, healthy and collaborating.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge of bicycles, parts and accessories;
  • Previous experience in bicycle or similar technical industry;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Technical bicycle mechanic experience;
  • Written and verbal communication skills.

Regular Responsibilities may Include:

  • Interface with customers;
  • Recommend products based on customer goals/intended use and compatibility;
  • Process transactions;
  • Record notes detailing customer information, desires, proposed solutions, etc.;
  • Ongoing development of product knowledge;
  • Clean and organize sales floor.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 – $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
