Full Job Description

The Tioga County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a 501(c)(3) organization whose parent organization is I’mPACT – Protecting Against Childhood Trauma. The mission of Tioga County CASA is to promote a safe and permanent home for abused and neglected children. CASA achieves its mission by providing trained volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children through involvement in the dependency court process. The Tioga County CASA program is young and in its second year of development.

The program is seeking a Program Support Specialist to assist with the continued growth of this impactful, new program.

The Program Support Specialist will operate consistently with the goals and objectives of the PA CASA Association. This position reports to the executive director of Tioga County CASA, ensures compliance with its goals, policies, and procedures, and contributes to its mission and vision.

The Program Support Specialist position primarily involves assisting with recruitment efforts, volunteer coordination, event planning, case management reporting and related tasks.

At all times, the Program Support Specialist maintains the CASA program by adhering to all National CASA standards and Pennsylvania state statutes.

Tioga County CASA fulfills its mission by recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers from the community who are appointed by the Court as a child’s advocate to protect and promote their “best interest.” Juvenile court judges appoint CASA advocates to be the eyes and ears of the Court in complicated abuse and neglect cases. CASA volunteers work to be a unifying force on behalf of children – gathering information, communicating with all parties, and ensuring that children in foster care have a caring and consistent adult speaking up for them and making sure they are receiving the care they need and deserve.
