Prerequisites for applicants:

  • Enjoy cycling/ proficient mountain biker
  • Previous experience as a camp counselor and/or previous experience working with children.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Completion of online and in-person training.

Time commitment:

  • You must be available for 5 days of camp per week for the following weeks:
    • Week of June 26th through the week of July 31st
  • Camp sessions are the following (not that nor every session runs every week):
    • 3-day for ages 7-13: 9-1 M-W
    • 5-day for ages 7-13: 9-1 M-F
    • Youngsters for ages 5-6: 9-1 M-T
    • Teen Camp for ages 13-15: 1-5 M-W
  • You will be expected to arrive 1 hour early on the first day of each session, and 30 minutes early every other day, and expected to stay around 30 minutes after the end of camp to clean up.
  • You will also be required to help lead in-person training on June 10th at Kingdom Trails
  • You will likely spend approximately 2 additional hour per week working with the kids camp director to prepare for camp.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee local counselors:
  • Lead an in-person training for local counselors
  • Be knowledgeable about the local trail system; create recommended routes
  • Complete weekly evaluations for counselors
  • Camp set-up and clean-up
  • Arriving at 8 am on the first day of camp, and 8:30 on consecutive days
  • On-the-ground liaising with parents
  • Ensuring that equipment is safe
Logistics
  • Working with Kids Camp Director to ensure the manifest is all set
  • Working with Kids Camp Director to report and respond to risk-management situations
  • Pre -camp meetings with Kids Camp Director and local counselors to prepare logistics
  • Ensuring that afternoon activities are planned
  • Outside of your additional responsibilities, you will be fulfilling the role of kids’ camp counselor alongside the other counselors.
  • This involves:
    • Teaching individual skills modules
    • Running games
    • Leading skills application ride
    • Ensuring a SAFE and fun environment for al
