Montpelier Children’s House is seeking an energetic candidate for our soon-to-be-opened Infant and early toddler room.
We are seeking a seasoned professional with experience in the field who has a strong understanding of Vermont state regulations as well as best practices for infant and toddler care. Applicants should have excellent communication skills (with children, co-teachers and parents), be eager and enthusiastic facilitators of children’s play and enjoy being outdoors with children in all weather. Children’s House is a small program serving ages birth through five.

Duties
Candidates should have experience in play-based, inquiry-driven and child led methods of engaging children ages 0-3. Teachers work in collaboration with the teaching team to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is responsive to children’s needs and Vermont regulations and standards. Our methodology gives educators the opportunity to support young people in all aspects of their growth, with a special focus on social and emotional skills, creative problem solving and material exploration.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience working with children 0-2, ideally at least three years experience working with groups of children; demonstrate a willingness to collaborate in the planning and implementation of a play-based curriculum, and supporting the development of the social and emotional lives of young children.
