JOB DESCRIPTION
The Desk Attendant for the Health Club and Spa warmly greets and guides members and guests and assures they are registered. He / She assists spa clients in completing paperwork necessary for treatments, logs them into the system for their appointment, directs them to the appropriate therapy area, and contacts the assigned therapist. In addition, the Desk Attendant receives and routes incoming phone calls, responds to requests for information and assistance, and handles payment transactions. He / She sets the tone for our valued clients by exhibiting a sincerely friendly and professional demeanor at all times. The Desk Attendant maintains an orderly and highly functional work area, and collaborates with Team Members in the spirit of outstanding customer service, teamwork, and communication.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma/GED, is highly practiced in the art of customer service, is dependable/prompt, maintains a sharp personal appearance, and is willing/available to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends. In addition, CPR certification is required (or willing to become certified) and Lifeguard certification a plus.
The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
– Greet all members and guests in friendly and courteous manner
– Answer incoming calls in a clear and friendly and expedient manner, always identifying the facility location and your name
– Provide accurate information to the best of your ability
– Review and update knowledge of Fitness and Spa services, products and offerings on a consistent basis
– Take accurate and complete messages as necessary or route calls through voice-mail system
– Check members in/out of the Pool and Fitness Facility
– Assist clients in completing the necessary paperwork
– Assure complete billing information is gathered for each client, completes transaction using POS device
– Gather complete and give accurate information from new health club patrons
– Communicate with club members requiring information on Spa services
– Oversee the appearance and cleanliness of the fitness center, pool, and spa areas
– Provide light cleaning duties in the reception, fitness center and spa areas
– Assure a complete stock of clean folded towels are provided in all designated areas
– Restock fruit, drinks, towels, etc.
– Receive deliveries and record information in log
– Maintain the Front Desk and surrounding spa areas in a neat and orderly manner
– Review Appointment book before start of each shift
– Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required; some post high school education or training preferred
  • One year of relevant experience
  • Excellent customer service focus
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong Computer and Internet skills
  • CPR certification (or willingness to become certified)
