Job Summary: checking in/checking out patients, answering telephone calls, patient scheduling; working within an electronic medical record
Work Hours: EMMC Pediatric Primary Care is now open most weekdays until 6:30 p.m. in the summers and 7:00 p.m. in the winter and Saturday and Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A primary work shift will be determined based upon current staff work shifts and business needs. Flexibility and availability is a must to cover the evening and occasional weekend shifts. Work shifts may change, with notice, to cover an earlier shift or later shift to meet patient and business needs during peak patient times, vacations and call outs. Participation in the evening and weekend rotations is a must.
1-2 years experience with personal computers and frontline customer service
Keyboarding 35 wpm
Knowledge of computers
Graduate/equivalent of a 2-year program in a medical science field or equivalent
ICD-9 and CPT coding experience a plus
2 years medical office experience
Knowledge of insurance referrals
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Other skills required:
Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully
Pleasant and friendly manner
Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, reaching, bending, walking and stretching, ability to keyboard for extended periods of time
Working Environment: Busy, often times stressful, ambulatory facility providing direct patient care, considerable amount of direct patient/customer contact.
